I arrived in Da Lat late in the morning, about at twelve o’clock. When I came, the weather was fine and the day was beautiful. I enjoyed the cool and fresh mild air although it was nearly midday.

Uncle Tuan met me at the bus station and took me home on his motorcycle. I visited many beautiful places in Da Lat such as the Flower Garden, the Chinese Pagoda and the Love Valley.

Yesterday Uncle Tuan took me to the Prenn and Dambri Falls. The falls are very beautiful and impressive. I’ve never seen such beautiful and fascinating sights.

This morning, we went to visit the village of the tribe Lat. They live in small cottages. They were very friendly and they invited us to drink their traditional drink, “cồn” alcohol.

For meals, we eat a lot of local nice vegetables and the tasty fruit of Da Lat, fresh strawberries.

The atmosphere here is very lovely and peaceful. I feel relaxed myself with the nature. I’m enjoying myself very much. I bought some fruits and some souvenirs. I also had some photos of places I visited to show you about my trip. I’m planning to go home next Thursday. Uncle and Aunt Huy asked me to give you their regards.

B: Sure. I think every family sets up its own rules.

C: That’s right, because a family is a society miniature. Therefore, there must be a set of rules lo keep everything in order.

D: So, what are your family rules?

A: According to our traditional culture, every member has to obey family rules: obedience, respect, help our superior.

B: Besides these, some families have their own rules. For example, in my family everybody should share duties and responsibilities as required. I mean the family chores.

C: What’s your responsibility?

B: As a child in the family, I have to help my parents with household chores I can do. In particular, I’m not allowed to watch much TV for I’m now in the final year, and when I haven’t finished my exercises or homework.

D: Do you have to do your routine chores?

B: No. My parents spare me so much of free time.

C: Do your parents let you go out with friends?

B: Oh. nearly never during this period, except for special occasions such as birthday parties or funerals. One thing I’m never allowed to do is using the family’s motorbikes.

A: You mean you can only ride your bike? What about urgent cases?

B: In urgent eases, my lather takes me on his motorbike.

C: Oh, me too.

D: Do you think these rules limit your own rights or freedom?

A: No. On the other hand, I think that these rules are very indispendable to me. They help me to live in a disciplined and organized life.

I’m writing to talk about my family rules. It’s an interesting topic, isn’t it? It may be obvious that every family has its own rules. Mine has a few, apart from our traditional rules, especially for this school year as I’m in the final year.

First. I’m not allowed to watch TV, nearly no, except when there is a good or interesting movie or when I have finished all my homework and exercises. Never do my parents let me to stay up so much late at night. Next my parents don’t permit me to go out with friends without necessary reason for example birthdays or funerals. Besides, I have to take a balanced diet to keep fit for my coming exam. And one more thing I have to keep up is talking on the phone, that is I have to set a limit to my using of the phone.

Do you think I have a lot of rules to abide? Or I have no rights or freedom to do what I want or like? Tell me about your family rules. It’s much fun to hear about them.

Mình viết lá thư này để kể cho bạn nghe về những quy tắc trong gia đình mình. Đây là một đề tài thú vị phải không nào? Rõ ràng là mỗi gia đình đều có những quy tắc riêng. Gia đình mình cũng có một vài quy tắc, ngoại trừ những quy tắc truyền thống phải có, đặc biệt là trong khoảng thời gian mình đang học năm cuối cấp.

Đầu tiên, mình không được phép xem TV, gần như không được xem, ngoại trừ khi có bộ phim nào đó hay hoặc thú vị khi mà mình đã hoàn thành xong tất cả các bài tập và thực hành. Bố mẹ không bao giờ cho phép mình thức quá khuya. Tiếp đó là bố mẹ không cho phép mình đi ra ngoài với bạn bè ngoại trừ những lý do chính đáng như đi sinh nhật hoặc đám tang. Bên cạnh đó, mình phải cân đối bữa ăn để đảm bảo sức khỏe cho kì thi tới. Và một điều nữa là mình phải tuân thủ là nói chuyện qua điện thoại, đó là việc giới hạn sử dụng điện thoại của mình.
